About The Event

We'll gather with Zapotec Dyeing and Weaving Master - Vero Mendoza. They bring a vast ancestral legacy to bear in their teachings and offer community members a chance to explore natural dyeing using a traditional approach.

In this workshop, you will learn ancient techniques of washing, carding, and dyeing wool with natural products inherited from generation to generation. The Zapotec artisan Vero Mendoza will demonstrate the process she uses in the production of her textiles made on a pedal loom.

Each participant is asked to bring a small cotton garment so they can experience the magic of natural dyeing themselves. This can be a bucket hat, a scarf, or something no larger than 12"x12"

Suggested donation: $45.00, no one turned away for lack of funds.
